Southern California, here we come! | Palm Springs Wedding Photographer

Palm Springs Wedding Photographer, 29 Palms Photographer

That’s right … I am officially becoming a Palm Springs wedding photographer! And it’s only fitting that this formal announcement be made this weekend, since this is the best Mother’s Day gift for me and my mom!

After so much thought, prayer and consideration … Randy and I have decided that the time is right for our family to relocate permanently to Southern California. This decision has been a long time coming – we’ve really been mulling it over for the last year or so. We have loved the last three years here in Colorado, and I am so utterly grateful for all of the love, support, friendship, referrals and experience that I have gotten here. The wonderful group of photographers and wedding vendors I have grown to love and appreciate so much – thank you so much for everything. I’m so excited to finish off the 2014 season with you all!

FOR MY COLORADO FRIENDS ::

So, what does this mean for my Colorado friends? Well, it means that you have until approximately August 10th to have a session with me here! The boudoir studio will likely close down sometime in mid-to-late July, depending when our house sells. I am opening all weekends between now and the middle of August to accomodate requests (no weekend fees will be added). This move will not effect the upcoming FUNtography workshop will still be held here in Colorado, at the end of September, or any of the weddings scheduled. It does mean we are no longer accepting any weddings for after August here in Colorado, though. 🙂

FOR MY SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA FRIENDS ::

Now, what does this mean for my Southern California friends? Well, it means that I will be available for shoots starting in October for Palm Springs, La Quinta, Yucca Valley, 29 Palms and surrounding areas (as well as San Diego and Los Angeles areas!). It also means we are starting to take bookings for 2015 weddings anywhere in Southern California.  I am also hoping to have the boudoir studio up and running sometime in later this year!

SO … WHAT’S OUR PLAN ::

Our eventual goal is to purchase some land within the next 5 years near Palm Springs and build our dream home, with a barn and orchard, that will eventually become a rustic desert wedding venue. Our ranch will also have a full boudoir photography studio on-site … And the best part is that we will finally live near our family for the first time as adults (we have spent the last 12 years traveling all over the world and United States … it’s time for us to go home!), and my parents will have the opportunity to watch our kids grow up. Family is everything to us, and we feel so blessed and excited to be reunited with them.

BUT, WHAT ABOUT THE ADOPTION ::

I know some of you may be wondering what is going on with the adoption and how this move will affect the process … the good news is, is that we are definitely able to continue our adoption journey in California. It does mean a bit of a financial setback since each state is specific with their costs and fees and it’s all non-refundable (lesson learned – put everything in savings FIRST, THEN pay … sigh). With any luck, it will only set our timeline back by a couple of months (if that), and we will able to have a placement soon! I know that God has a plan for our family, and we are placing our trust in Him to lead us to the child that will complete our family (until we adopt again, haha!).

SO … IF YOU’VE BEEN WANTING TO SCHEDULE YOUR SESSION WITH ME …

My calendar is already getting pretty full for the remainder of our time in Colorado – but I still have plenty of weekday availability for both boudoir and and any other kind of session you might want to have.

It also means at the upcoming FUNtography Workshop in September – I will be giving away ALL my secrets to running a successful photography business in Colorado! I still have a few spots left … and I am actually auctioning a seat off for adoption fundraiser (CLICK HERE!).

If you’re looking for a wedding photographer in the Southern California area, I am offering a 25% off 2014 wedding rates until December 31st for any 2015 wedding. This summer I will also be giving away ONE wedding to a LUCKY  SoCal couple … check back for that announcement in July!
