Oh, sweet baby girl – you have NO idea how beloved you are.

I’ll never forget when Devon emailed me with a sweet email with the subject, “And then there were three” sometime in her first trimester. I saw it, and I immediately got choked up and just overjoyed for Carl and Devon, because we had talked about how they wanted a baby when they were planning their convalidation ceremony. I had prayed for them and sent all kinds of good juju their way and so getting that email – man oh man. Randy can testify that I literally cried a little bit responding that I’d be honored to help tell everyone about their pregnancy (check that blog out here)!!

Over the last few months, Devon + I have texted and emailed back and forth talking about pregnancy and upcoming baby fun, and when she texted me that she was getting induced at 37 weeks because she developed preeclempsia (and later that evening, it developed into full-blown HELLP syndrome) … Randy + I prayed hard and kept the phone nearby. After a long labor, baby Maeve came into the world on March 2nd – just a few days shy of their third wedding anniversary!!

This past weekend, Randy + I flew into LAX and made our way over to Carl and Devon’s beautiful West LA home to not only meet baby Maeve, but to document their first ever family photos. What an HONOR to be part of their continuing story – I think this might be my favorite part of being a photographer! Getting to meet couples that are young and in love and just excited about getting married … and watching them become husbands and wives, watching them become home owners, fur-parents, learning they’re expecting and finally – watching them start their families!!
