Today we woke up, and we missed San Francisco. It’s one of our favorite cities – the hustle, the bustle, the laid-back attitudes, the architecture, the sights, the wildlife, the food, the sounds … it’s just an amazing place to be.
Usually Ash is the one who takes most of our travel photos, but this time – Randy did most of the shooting. We were testing out a Nikon D4s (which we rented from BorrowLenses.com) as well as tested out our new Nikon D750. We took off from the Palm Springs airport at 6 in the morning (which required a wake up time of 2:45am … ouch!) and we spent nearly 12 hours hiking, exploring, eating and sightseeing all over San Francisco … crossing a few things off our Bucket List of things to see and do!
Here are just a few of the photos we took from our day of San Francisco sightseeing! Enjoy!
First stop? The Painted Ladies. ’90s kids will recognize these houses without missing a beat – it’s the Full House houses. Who else is super excited about the upcoming release of Fuller House on Netflix??
The one downside to San Francisco: paying to park everywhere.
We happened to be sightseeing on the best day possible in January. No fog, gorgeous skies, and warm-ish temps.
Okay, kind of warm-ish. The windiness made it a little more cold-ish.
When you don’t have a hat to cover your ears from the wind, you improvise.
No idea where this dog came from, but he was so cute. And that stick was his BFF.
Bucket list item: eating clam chowder at Fisherman’s Wharf.
And it was amazing.
Street performance by Marcus Appellazzo was seriously awesome. We listened to a full concert almost, and we were blown away by how talented this guy is.
We even shared a live video of it on our Instagram! Check out the video!!!
This was one of the cooler things we did: we went to the 7D Experience at the end of Pier 39. It was a video game / 3D experience / ride almost … similar to California Soarin’ at Disneyland’s California Adventure (although not nearly as long and without the “smellovision” part). It was actually a pretty cool thing to do, even for someone (like Ashley) who dislikes video games.
And then, the traffic. And the pedestrians. But it was all part of the San Francisco experience!
We can’t wait to come back to San Francisco in a couple of weeks for another wedding!!
Looks like a super fun trip! 🙂
