New York Wedding At The Metropolitan Building
January 30, 2019
The best part of my job, hands down, are the people I get to work with. I’ve known Tessa for several years now, we met back when she used to work at my publication platform, Two Bright Lights, and I was so beyond honored when she asked if Randy + I would be willing and able to come to New York for her wedding with Rob. Visiting New York has always been one of my wanderlust dreams, and it was everything I dreamed it would be and so much more. I’m honestly sad we only got to spend four days there, because it was definitely not enough to explore the city! And next time, I definitely want to bring the kids so they can experience New York City. It’s truly unlike any place I’ve ever been to in my life, and I absolutely understand why everyone says it’s the greatest city in the world.
Anyway, back to Tessa + Rob! These two met while going to Northeastern University together and despite living only a couple doors down from each other, they didn’t meet until Christmastime their freshman year. They didn’t start dating right away, but instead became the best of friends and it was through that friendship that their relationship evolved. It’s funny being around the two of them, because they remind me so much of me and Randy – just two peas from the same pod!
Their wedding took place at the Metropolitan Building in Long Island City, and it’s weird saying I got star-struck by a building, but I totally did. So many incredible photographers have photographed in this building (including photos for Vogue Magazine, like WHAT?!) and just a couple weeks before Rob + Tessa’s wedding, Pentatonix was in there filming a music video. I mean, it’s just the most eclectic and incredible space! I’ve never seen any other place like it in the 8 years I’ve been photographing weddings!
I would love to thank the incredible vendor team that came together to make Rob + Tessa’s Metropolitan Building Wedding in New York City so absolutely amazing!
