Let us start by saying this: we absolutely LOVE intimate, backyard weddings. They’re seriously our favorites, because everything is so focused on the couple and their families and very closest friends. There’s not a lot of unnecessary and expensive fluff – it’s what weddings is really about (at least, to us). So when one of Ashley’s oldest friends – someone she’s known since she was 8 years old – reached out to us and asked us to come to her Southern California backyard wedding in Corona, we absolutely jumped over the moon with excitement.
Hannah and Sean are perfectly suited for each other, and their wedding was a dream come true. They decided early on that they didn’t want a big wedding, but instead decided to have a backyard wedding at Sean’s mom’s house. They decided not to invite all of their friends that they’ve ever known, but instead they decided to pay respects to their tribe – the people who raised them, who helped shape them into the people they are today. Instead of hiring someone to officiate their vows, Annie’s dad did a beautiful job officiating the ceremony.
But the personalization and intimate nature of their wedding doesn’t end there! Annie handmade all of the beautiful dreamcatchers (which is what she does for a living, too!), the sage and juniper that they burned during the ceremony was grown in their front yard, and Annie’s parents put together all of the succulents that served as wedding favors and table centerpieces.
We are so thrilled for Annie and Sean, and so excited to be sharing their intimate backyard wedding on our blog today!
We’d love to give a shout out to the incredible vendor team that came together for Sean + Hannah’s backyard wedding!
