Cody and Trisha have a very, very special place in my heart. I’ve known them since 2010 when we were all living up in Minot at the Air Force base up there, and not only were they my first ever engagement session but they were also my first ever wedding clients. I just love them to bits and pieces and it’s been so fun watching their story unfold, and it’s been an honor for them to stick by my side as I figured out my “photographic voice” and been some of my biggest cheerleaders. While we were in Iowa for our road trip, Trisha and I were texting all night long when that crazy storm was rolling through – I don’t think she knew the extent of my tornado phobias until that night, hahaha!!  🙂 Trisha is an alumni of the University of Iowa and she actually works for them now in their sports department as part of the media … so when she asked me to update their photos while we were in town, I was SO excited!! Since the time we separated from the military, Cody has also separated and is now one of the troopers for the Iowa State Patrol – and we hadn’t seen him since we lived in North Dakota so it was really great catching up with the both of them. We did this Iowa City couples photography shoot downtown by the original capitol building (which is gorgeous, by the way). It was pretty ridiculous hot – we didn’t even last half of the planned hour long shoot because it was so hot and humid outside … But we totally nailed it! 🙂 I just love how sweet these two are together … I can’t wait to see them again! xoxo
