There’s something just so special about having DIY backyard wedding – it’s so personal, and homey. We had such a fabulous time at Trey + Madelliene’s home in Fontana, a small town about an hour east of Los Angeles. So many of the details were homemade – from the invitations and rocky road marshmallow pops, to the signage, even the dance floor – both of them worked so hard to make their day as personal as possible; Madelliene described it as a “production of love.” All of the details were so well-designed by both Trey and Madelliene – I must have re-pinned every single thing Maddy had on her wedding inspiration board on Pinterest! I knew that if her wedding was a fraction of how beautiful her Pinterest board was, that it was going to be a dream come true. Confession? It was everything I hoped it would be and so, so much more. While the details of the wedding were absolutely lovely – what really made our hearts so happy was watching Trey and Madelliene with their family and friends. Every single person who attended was so much fun, and kind, and many came from all over the country to watch these two tie the knot.
My absolute favorite part about weddings is the speeches, and Trey’s sister Lanie delivered one of my favorite speeches I’ve ever heard. She spoke of childhood memories and how she has known since then that when Trey loves, he loves with his whole heart … and that she knew that he would love Maddy with his whole heart for his whole life. There wasn’t a dry eye in the backyard! After the speeches and an AMAZING dinner from Aroma Indian Grill (my first time ever eating Indian food and I’ll admit – I think I’m hooked now!), everyone went inside to watch Maddy + Trey not only have their first dance as husband and wife – but their first dance ever!
We are so thrilled for the newly minted Mr. and Mrs. Ruff!
