Good morning and happy Monday, friends!! It’s been absolutely for-ev-er since I have blogged a session. I’ll be honest – I’ve been in survival mode for the last several weeks – my first fall season back to work after my 18 month sabbatical has been absolutely amazing from start to finish. It was exactly what my soul needed and I’ve been shooting my heart out! I will be blogging everything I’ve been up to over the last couple of months over the next few slower shooting months (thank you, winter!) but I wanted to share Adam and Anna’s downtown Lake Geneva engagement session with yall.

Adam and Anna met in high school, when they were partnered up at Adam’s sister’s quincenera when Anna was 15 and Adam was 17. Over the last six years together, they’ve gone through so much together and have persevered like a timeless love story you hear about in movies. Anna told me all about when Adam proposed, and it was sooo sweet. In her own words:

The week before the proposal Adam had spent sun up to sun down cleaning out the corn crib at his family farm. It was mothers day weekend and I was told we were going out to eat at Texas Roadhouse for his moms mothers day dinner. The day of we got all dressed up and we went to stop at walgreens to get his mom a card for what I thought was going to be a mothers day dinner. Instead of going to dinner we pulled back into the farm and up to the corn crib. I was very confused, but Adam told me to wait in the car for a minute and then come into the corn crib after him. He went into the corn crib and I waited a minute. I walked into the barn that was all decorated with pictures of us and rose petals. Both our families were there and Adam was standing at the other end of the barn on one knee.

Amazing, right?!

Anyway … Adam and Anna’s downtown Lake Geneva engagement session LIT ME UP. I can’t even – with the trees that looked like they were on fire, to the gentle lake breeze that made for some of my favorite romantic images I’ve ever taken, to the snuggles and kisses and everything in between? This engagement session was amazing and I am soooo stoked for their wedding next year at Lake Lawn Resort in Delavan!
