Ever since we moved back to Colorado earlier this year, we’d been dreaming about going up to the mountains and photographing a beautiful couple amongst the evergreens and snowcapped Rocky Mountains. When Anne reached out to us to photograph their engagement session (and we’re also coming to Florida for their beach wedding next year), and she said she wanted “majestic Colorado scenery” … well, my heart skipped a beat or two or ten. Finally!!!
We made the trek up to Echo Lake Park for Easter this year as a family, and it was one of the most serene and beautiful places I’ve ever seen in person. It was a little slushy and muddy with the snow beginning to melt – but still. It was so fun spending some time with Anne + Jay, they are an amazing couple. They came all the way from Maine for an adventure in Colorado, and while they were here they decided to have their engagement session here … and I’m so glad that they did!!
They met through a mutual friend, and while they can’t really specify a certain a-ha moment where they realized each other was the one, Anne says, “we both just love to adventure and have fun, and together that’s made us the perfect match.” We couldn’t agree more! They really are a perfect match!
When it came time for Jay to propose, he enlisted the help of their dog Milo to surprise Anne the weekend of her graduation from college. Jay’s mom kept Milo hidden behind some rocks at the famous lighthouse in Portland, and then up come Milo with a dog tag that read “will you marry me?” … How ADORABLE is that!?
We can’t wait to come spend the weekend with them at the beach next summer for their laid-back VRBO wedding in Florida!!
