I remember the first time that Randy and I visited Boxed and Burlap in Delavan – we both fell in love with the whole place! So when Lizzie and Dylan asked where we should go that had evergreens and a cool vibe, I know we should have their engagement session at Boxed and Burlap in Delavan!

We met up on the coldest and breeziest freaking day in December, but looking at these photos you’d never guess that we were all freezing cold. Normally an engagement session can last as long as an hour or two, but this session was finished in 40 minutes because I lost feeling in my fingers (yes, even through my gloves). And Dylan wasn’t even wearing a real jacket, omggg.

Engagement Session at Boxed and Burlap in Delavan

Dylan and Lizzie met their sophomore year of college – Lizzie was moving into her new apartment with some friends and Dylan and his friend walked over to say hi, since they had just moved in next door. They ended up all hanging out that night and their two apartments all became a big group of friends. Dylan became her best guy friend and they ended up spending a lot of time together throughout college, but were always just friends. It turns out Dylan liked her for most of that time, but she was never really sure how he felt since he never told her anything.

The summer after their senior year, she started to have feelings for him and the night before she moved away for medical school, Dylan told her how he felt and they started dating! Of course she had to move out of state the next day to Michigan while he stayed in Wisconsin, but they made their relationship work from long distance for four years prior to moving to Chicago together.

While they both knew each other was the one very early on, when Dylan proposed to Lizzie it was in the middle of the pandemic. On New Years Eve, in their Star Wars and Coor’s Light onesies, Dylan got down on one knee next to the Christmas tree and proposed!

Now, here we are – celebrating their engagement session at Boxed and Burlap and getting ready for their wedding next summer in Madison! We can’t wait!!
