We have had the opportunity to do a lot of fun things throughout our career as intimate wedding photographers, but Frankie + Dusty’s engagement session at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs! We met up just a couple of days before the devastating hail storm that came through and destroyed so much of the Zoo. But the day that we went was absolutely incredible – perfect summer weather and it wasn’t too busy. We hung out for a couple hours, just walking around and getting to know Frankie + Dusty.

These two met at work, where Dusty was a server and Frankie was a hostess. They started to date and just a few months ago on a family trip to Grand Turk Island, Dusty proposed to Frankie right in front of her mom and dad! He was so nervous and excited, poor guy – Frankie said that his hands were totally shaking when he put the engagement ring on her finger, ha ha ha! And now here they are, planning their wedding for next summer and we are so excited to be headed to their intimate outdoor wedding celebration in the mountains!

It was so much fun shooting an engagement session at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo – we got to feed giraffes and went into the bird exhibit and fed them, too! We even got to cross the ropes to try and pet the wallabies, but unfortunately they were a bit camera shy. We ended their engagement session with some delicious Dippin’ Dots (which are one of Randy’s favorite treats at the zoo!) and big hugs, and ahhh! We’re so excited to finally be able to share their zoo engagement session on our blog today!!
