When Emily first reached out to me about photographing her and Jason’s upcoming wedding this summer, the first thing we talked about was how important family is to them both. They are combining their two families together and it really made me just fall in love with them that they’re doing everything together with everyone. It’s not very often that I get to do engagement and family combination sessions, and I freaking love it. Maybe it’s because my mom and (step) dad got married when I was 11 and getting my (step) brother was such a special thing to me in my life? It just brings me a lot of joy to be photographing this family!
We talked about all different things we could do together to make their engagement and family session at Pewaukee Lake special. We considered all kinds of fun activities to make their session unique and not boring. Since they just bought the most incredible house right on Pewaukee Lake, we decided to shoot right in their backyard!
Afterward, we walked downtown and enjoyed some yummy ice cream, and watched the sunset over the lake. The kids had a blast and the early summer afternoon light was totally dreamy!
Randy and I can’t wait to celebrate their family-focused wedding in just a few weeks, we know it’s going to be beyond amazing!
