Happy FriYAY, friends!! We are so ready for this weekend, it’s an actual weekend off (whoa, what are THOSE?!)!!

We have decided to start a whole new blog series and today is sort of a big deal: it’s our first ever FRIDAY FIVE! On Fridays, we’ll be sharing here on the blog 5 things about us that maybe you didn’t know about, or something that we did this week, or something that we’re really excited about. So without further adieu ….

Friday Five, Vol. 1

1.) Our first date was star gazing and french fries at Denny’s. We started dating in the summer of 2002, and it happened to be around the time of the annual Perseids Meteor Shower … and every year, we go outside and watch them together and eat french fries. It’s sort of a tradition! And now that we live out in the middle of nowhere desert near Joshua Tree, we can really see them right from our backyard!

2.) Ashley’s been hitting the gym like whoa. Believe it or not, one of our business goals was to take time for ourselves, to hit the gym and make health a priority. Ashley’s been going to the gym at least 4 days a week this summer, taking yoga, pilates, HIIT and weightlifting classes … and it’s been AWESOME. Totally becoming a “gym person”!! We totally understand what Elle was talking about endorphins, now!

3.) Randy’s almost finished the bathroom tile. The Durham House Renovation project is coming along, slowly but surely!! Randy’s been hand laying white subway tile in our hall bathroom, and turning a just-tub into a shower-and-tub … and it’s looking AMAZING in there. Right now it looks like a chaotic construction zone, but we promise: once it’s all finished, we’ll be sharing all about it!

4.) Our chickens started laying eggs this week!! When we brought our 10 chicks home in late March, we didn’t anticipate them laying eggs until sometime later this fall … so imagine our surprise when we came outside and found a beautiful, organic brown egg in the middle of the chicken coop! We’re getting 1-3 eggs a day right now – so not much, but, it’s so exciting. The kids LOVE going out there, like it’s an Easter egg hunt … but twice a day!

And last but not least:

5.) We’re going LIVE today for our first ever webinar!! We are so excited to be partnering up with our besties over at Two Bright Lights for our webinar all about getting published. We’re going to be going over why we love getting published, why our clients love getting published, the amazing things it’s done for our business … and much, much more!!! It’s not too late for you to sign up – we aren’t going live until 1pm ET (10am for us West Coast peeps!).
