Chris and Vickie’s glam maroon Palm Springs wedding at Spencer’s Restaurant just a few days ago was a beautiful, beautiful day. Just like the weekend before, we were crossing our fingers that the rain would hold out – at least for the ceremony, which was to be on the upper lawn at Spencer’s. The day before the wedding, not only was it pouring cats and dogs outside, there was moderate flooding and on top of that: the venue where rehearsal dinner took place actually caught on fire!
Needless to say, when we woke up the morning of the wedding and saw clear, crystal-blue skies and warmer temperatures in the forecast – I think everyone let out a sigh of collective relief; we had all kinds of backup plans prepared but we totally lucked out!
Their wedding day went off without a hitch, because Chris and Vickie are two of the most down to earth, easy to be around, keep calm under pressure kind of people. Even with all the craziness of floods and fires, they knew that at the end of the day they would be husband and wife and that nothing else mattered. And since your vibe attracts your tribe – their entire wedding party was seriously so much fun to hang out with!!
We would be remiss not to give a shout out to Vickie’s sister Jessica and Chris’s dad David, for their amazing contributions to making Chris and Vickie’s wedding day so special. Jessica designed the place cards, table numbers, all the signage and the adorable placements for the kids and David completely built the redwood arch at the altar by hand, and brought it all the way from San Diego! One day when they own a home with a backyard, the arch will go in their backyard – which is pretty much the sweetest gift ever.
We loved this wedding at Spencer’s Restaurant, and we’re so happy for our friends Chris + Vickie! Cheers!!
Special thanks to Chris + Vickie’s rad wedding creative team!
