It has been unseasonably warm here in Colorado Springs the last few weeks, I mean for goodness sake – it’s going to be nearly 60 degrees today. In January!? What?! I’ve been ever so (not so) patiently waiting for the snow and cooler temps to show up, but since they haven’t made an appearance yet … well, I guess I’ll just have to enjoy the warmth and that beautiful golden winter light, which just happens to be my favorite light of all time.

Right before Christmas, I got to spend one of those beautiful golden and warm afternoons with Aaron, Victoria and sweet little Genevieve for their family session at Fox Run Park. Fox Run Park is one of my favorite spots for family photos – the evergreens, the lake, that beautiful way that the sun filters through. But what makes my time at a family session at Fox Run Park even better? The people I get to spend it with!

Aaron and Victoria just moved here from Arizona, so I know this definitely isn’t what they’d call “warm weather” but they did an amazing with their outfits! I loved spending a little while with this amazing family, especially baby Genevieve – an up and coming baby model here in Colorado Springs! She is such a sweet little ham in front of the camera, she didn’t want to do much cuddling or playing – she was too enamored with exploring. I loved just trailing her around in the evergreens though, she looked so cute in her little white fur vest!
