Intimate AirBnB Wedding in Colorado | Greg & Angela
May 30, 2019
Greg and Angela initially met at work and worked together – clicking as a couple almost instantly. They are both veterans of the military (he in the Navy, she in the Air Force) and when they separated from the military, they got the same exact degree and ended up working together! Once they got together, they even got to be on a reality TV show called Relative Race!
When it came time for Greg to propose, Angela told me that he went “above and beyond.”
She said, “He had been scheming with four of our closest friends for months and getting feedback on the ring. He even got the jeweler involved. I love vintage jewelry and all of the nice stuff he’s given me through the years has been vintage/estate pieces. In October he took me to the store to look around…nothing unusual there. The owner said, the employee helping us, oh they’ve been in a few times they love vintage pieces… show her these. One of “these” was my ring, they wanted to see what I thought and if it needed to be sized. (It was a little awkward because it was the jeweler who was putting engagement rings in front of me, not Greg, lol) He actually proposed on my 40th birthday, which fell on a Saturday.
On Friday evening he surprised me with my two best friends, one lives in TX the other CO. A few hours later our close friends who just moved to California joined the party too. I thought having them all there for the weekend was all the surprise I needed! On Saturday morning we were all having an amazing brunch together celebrating my birthday and when we were all gathered around the table laughing and having an amazing time, Greg made sure everyone had a mimosa, and asked to toast the birthday girl. He ended the toast with ” and I want you to be my wife…” It was the perfect proposal, perfect birthday, perfect surprise!”
Angela and Greg had a beautiful intimate AirBnB wedding in Colorado Springs in early May, with this vintage Hollywood glam vibe. All of Angela’s inspiration for hair, makeup and her dress are a mix of Grace Kelly, Ava Gardener and Liz Taylor. Her engagement ring was even vintage from the 1920s, and their invitations had the same art deco pattern that is in the original door nobs in their historic home. The cake topper and cake will have a bit of the vintage theme as well, with a homemade wooden cake topper that had a moon and a vintage 1920s silhouette of a bride and groom.
What I loved most was how hands-on Angela and Greg were with designing their wedding. Everything was made together or made for them by friends and family, including the beautiful wooden cake topper, all of the food and even the orange wedding flowers. Angela said that the biggest deal about their wedding is the people that are coming, who came from all over the country to be with them and there were people there from every stage of their lives – from childhood to friends they’ve met together in the past few years.
I’d love to give a big shout out to the vendors that helped Greg and Angela’s intimate AirBnB wedding go off without a hitch!
