This was one of the coolest sessions I’ve ever done … It’s always kind of intimidating but flattering when another photographer asks me to capture them, and this was no different. Melissa is the genius behind the lens over at Photography by Melissa J (check out her website and Facebook!), one of the more amazing newborn/baby photographers here in the Springs.

Melissa emailed me a couple weeks before her ‘big’ ultrasound in early February, and asked me to tag along to her appointment and then plan an entire shoot around telling them whether baby #3 was a boy or a girl. It was SO much fun!!! The appointment was awesome, I have never watched someone else get an ultrasound before and it definitely brought a lot of happy memories back for me with my own pregnancies, the excitement of finding out if the baby was a boy or a girl, watching his little heartbeat on the screen. I caught a glimpse of the gender during the ultrasound, and afterward the nurse gave me a little card to say …

IT’S A BOY!!!!

I got to plan a whole shoot to break the news that big brothers Kayetano (5) and Armando (3) were going to be big brothers to baby boy Jaimes #3!! I think Ernesto (Daddy) was beyond thrilled to be adding another member to team blue, and so was Melissa! I’m so happy for them, they are SUCH a wonderful and kind family, it was an honor to be asked to be part of this.
