Brent + Kristi’s La Quinta Country Club Wedding

Her strapless sequined dress was absolutely beautiful, hanging in the window light. Each of Kristi’s bridesmaids sat on the bed, watching Kristi have the finishing touches put on her makeup, sipping a beer with a straw since her lipstick had already been applied. There was music playing in the background, and light, nervous laughter as the time ticked down to the time Kristi would put on her wedding dress at her parents’ house in La Quinta.

When it was finally time, Kristi slipped on her gown as her bridesmaids helped fluff her dress out and she put on her jewelry. The delicate jewelry was special because they were Kristi’s mother’s, who passed away only a few days before. Watching Kristi put on the two bracelets that once belonged to her beloved mother was one of the hardest things we’ve watched a bride do before her wedding, and it was incredible to watch her on her wedding day handle everything with such grace and strength.

Meanwhile, Brent was already at the clubhouse at La Quinta Country Club, getting ready, eagerly awaiting for their first look. Kristi gracefully came down the stairs, with eyes only on Brent and with a simple tap on the shoulder, he turned around and his face spread into the biggest ear to ear smile. He led her to the top of a grassy hill on the golf course, holding hands as they stared out to the nearby mountains, watching the beginning of the sunset before their ceremony.

Their ceremony was heartfelt, with Kristi + Brent speaking openly from the heart for their vows. There was laughter and teasing, brief moments of tears and as the sun went down, they exchanged rings and promised to love each other for the rest of their lives. As everyone walked back down the aisle for the recessional, everyone turned around to see a large bouquet of pink balloons that were released in memory of Kristi’s mother, and everyone got a bit choked up watching them drift to the skies. It was an touching tribute, and it was the best way the ceremony could have concluded.

Following the ceremony, everyone gathered in the clubhouse for a beautifully designed reception, with candlelight and bistro lighting, pink, white and peach flowers and white hydrangeas decorating the tables and a three-tiered cake. After their grand entrance, Kristi’s father delivered a sentimental speech and as with the ceremony, there was laughter and teasing, with brief moments of tears and the promise to always be there for not only Kristi, but his new son-in-law, Brent.

We feel so humbled and blessed to have been part of Kristi + Brent’s La Quinta Country Club wedding, and are so happy for our friends as they celebrate their marriage! We hope they’re enjoying their tropical honeymoon!!
