Matt and Vonona are a lot of fun to hang out with – we spent a good portion of our day laughing and telling jokes and funny stories. Vonona actually booked this session a few months ago, before Matt returned home from his last deployment with the Air Force … so we definitely were VERY excited for this session. We had previously talked about going up to Estes Park to do it, but then as luck would have it – this wicked crazy snowstorm rolled through and we had a last minute change of venue … and I’m SO glad we did! We decided to head up to Mueller State Park, which is just past Woodland Park on the way out to Cripple Creek, and not only was the sun shining but it was also snowing at the same time (yeah, I know – kinda crazy). The snow up there is pretty deep – there were a couple times where Randy and I were both standing in nearly-waist-deep snow to get the shot (and no, we weren’t wearing snow pants … definitely a learning experience, haha).
