Mueller State Park Engagement Session
October 16, 2017
Fall in Colorado is an explosion of color – golds and yellows mixed with evergreens, crisp air and sometimes a little bit of snow. It also lasts just a few weeks, sometimes not even a month, and so the last couple of weeks we have been all over the state capturing some beautiful autumn engagement sessions. First up? Danielle and Daniel’s Mueller State Park engagement session up in Divide! Their session was absolutely magical from start to finish, from the rustling of the trees to the final few moments of our time together, spent in near silence, watching a mystical fog roll in and having an entire herd of mule deer casually come right next to us to graze. It was just … amazing. No other words could describe it! All of us were just standing there in awe, feeling so grateful to call Colorado our home!
These two are basically childhood sweethearts. They met initially at a summer camp many years ago, but it wasn’t until they were older that they reconnected and became good friends. It didn’t take very long for them to start dating, even spending a couple of years long distance for college. Finally, just a few weeks ago they planned a weekend getaway trip to Allenspark and Daniel set up a pretty elaborate hike, which ended with him proposing by Ouzel Falls (and luckily enough, there was a passersby that took a video for them!). He even packed a champagne in his pack to celebrate the occasion!
Then … Just FOUR days after Daniel popped the question, we had a message from Danielle sitting in our inbox asking us to document their engagement session, even though they don’t have any of their wedding details settled quite yet. And we totally lucked out, because we ended up having an opening in our schedule to slide them in, like it was absolute destiny!
