A few years ago I stopped making New Years Resolutions. It just seemed so pointless, and an easy way to set myself up for failure. I’m not knocking New Years Resolutions, because they certainly work for some people; but for me? Nah. Not so much.
Last year my word of the year was INTENTION. I spent the entire year being very intentional with my choices and my time – getting my health under control, how I spend my time online, even my career. I made very intentional decisions about it ALL.
This year I am taking my intention a step further, and I am devoting this next year to my SELF. I decided that “SELF” is my 2021 word of the year, and I am friggin’ here for it!!
Self love, self care, self esteem, self empowered, self respect, self confident, self worth, self control, self motivated … and maybe even a little self publishing 😜. More about that later!
2020 was definitely a hard year, but I’ve come to realize that by living my life intentionally I was able to not just survive, but thrive. And I know that by focusing on my SELF this year in 2021, I know this year will be even more incredible. I think it’s important to share about my goals and big dreams, which you can read more about why it’s important here.
My 2021 Word of the Year: SELF
My goals in 2021 are all about my SELF:
- to get my weight loss surgery done and begin my new way of life
- to love myself and be more kind to myself
- to continue my mental health wellness
- to complete my postponed 2020 wedding contracts and close that chapter of my life for good
- to finish writing my book
- to enjoy every minute of my Danny’s last semester of high school
- to garden this spring and summer and grow our food
- to spend more time offline and outside
- to continue our debt free journey
- to start my new business in creative design (more on that later, too)
Despite the blessings and chaos of 2020, I am really looking forward to 2021. I’m not going to jinx it, but I am going to say I am cautiously optimistic. 🤣
[…] and over again this year, I am going to be talking about my word of intention: SELF. As an enneagram type 2, taking care of myself is one of my fatal flaws. I’m constantly […]
