Lindsey and Patrick are absolutely adorable. I first started talking with them a few months ago, when they began planning their intimate Colorado Springs elopement. They are both active duty army, stationed at nearby Fort Carson and decided to elope and make it a super personal event for just the two of them. Their day was gorgeous – we had had some concern about rain earlier in the day, but about an hour before the ceremony the skies cleared up and the sun came out and the light shined down on them from atop a special place in Garden of the Gods that they like to hike to. Lisa, their wedding officiant, performed a simple but profound ceremony for the two of them and they each recited their own vows. Patrick’s vows actually brought him to tears just a bit, which then in turn made all of us get teary-eyed! After the ceremony, they sat down for a private picnic complete with homemade sandwiches, a fresh summer fruit salad, a couple of old fashioned cokes in bottles and a yummy donut dessert from Colorado’s favorite donut shop, Amy’s Donuts.
