Matt and Michelle’s Pfister Hotel wedding in Milwaukee was beautiful, intimate and easily one of the most technically challenging weddings of our entire career. More on the challenges in a minute, but first – let me tell you about our new friends, Matt and Michelle! These two are so sweet together, and I loved how much love and attention they put not only on each other, but their guests.

They met when Matt was Michelle’s property manager, and she would do anything and everything to visit him just to see his smiling face. Once they started dating, it was very clear to both of them that they were each other’s best friend and it didn’t take long for them to fall in love. Michelle actually asked Matt to marry her one night while they were at home on the couch, snuggling together while watching the Badger game!

When it came time to plan their Milwaukee wedding, Michelle’s love for antiques and vintage design came to fruition at the Pfister Hotel. The Pfister Hotel is one of Milwaukee’s oldest hotels, and it’s incredibly ornate. But it is a SUPER challenging hotel for photographers! There’s little to no natural light throughout most of the hotel, but especially in the gorgeous main lobby with the painted ceiling and gorgeous staircase. Not to mention, it’s very popular (aka crowded!) and we were trying our best to navigate around the guests. It was honestly a bit outside our normal wheelhouse, but, we got to rock some off camera flash throughout the hotel, and the hotel and its guests were incredible. And now these wedding photos are some of my favorites that we’ve ever taken! Proof positive that being challenged is not an obstacle, but rather an opportunity to grow.
