Romantic Sunrise Engagement Session at Garden of the Gods
December 19, 2018
I met Ben and Rachel at Daniel and Danielle’s wedding over the summer. Randy and I were sitting with Chris and Ali (our associate videographer and photographer) eating dinner, when Ben came up and explained that they had flown in to Colorado for the wedding and their wedding photographer was supposed to fly in for their engagement session, too. But there had been an airline mishap and their photographer wasn’t able to come, and they were hoping to get their engagement photos while they were in Colorado. So what did I do? Jumped in and said, “I got you guys, no worries!” and the three of us hung out just a couple of days later for their romantic sunrise engagement session at Garden of the Gods.
These two met online (like SO many people we know!) and quickly fell in love. After only three months together, Rachel was already telling her girlfriends that Ben was definitely The One for her, but Ben? Ben knew on their first date. He told me that she totally threw him off his game, because there was something so different about her! And when it came time to propose, Ben pulled off a pretty romantic surprise! Rachel had just graduated with her Masters degree and afterward they hosted an after party for all their friends and family. Earlier that morning, Ben told Rachel that her graduation gift was tickets to see Luke Bryan. However, during the party, Ben pulled Rachel into the gorgeous event room and handed her an envelope and said, “Here’s your tickets!” Rachel ripped open the envelope and realized quickly that it wasn’t tickets at all, but an adorable love letter. Ben then got on one knee (and made sure Rachel’s cousin was there to photograph the whole thing). They got to celebrate with all our friends and family the rest of the night … and they bought Luke Bryan tickets afterwards because it is part of their story now!
