Our San Diego Adventure Yesterday

April 24, 2016

Yesterday was one of those “wow, did we REALLY do all that in one day?!?” kind of days!

We woke up, and headed down for a San Diego adventure since we had an engagement session in Escondido at Felicita Park in the afternoon.

First up, we hit the Mission San Diego de Alcala since Katelyn has been learning about the California missions with her fourth grade class (and this week she’s been working hard on her mission diorama on this exact mission!). It was pretty neat to watch Katey see history coming to life, and listening to her talk about the mission and pointing things out that she had learned about.

It was pretty busy – in the couple hours we were there, we saw two weddings going on!! It is definitely a cool spot to get married in San Diego, absolutely beautiful with the white walls and beautiful gardens!!

After we left the Mission, we headed up to Escondido and went to our first ever Renaissance Faire. We’ve always heard about how much fun they are, so we decided to go check it out since one of our wedding couple’s were actually participating (Andee + Aaron – you guys will see their engagement session that was shot last night later on this week!).

The Renaissance Faire was pretty interesting, seeing all the people in costume. It was pretty much exactly like we envisioned it to be (from what we could see of Liz + TJ’s faire life on Gilmore Girls), and everyone seemed to be having a really great time. The turkey legs and fresh lemonade were delicious, and it was cool to see all the different types of groups and costumes.
