Last year, Allie reached out to me with a simple request: she wanted to surprise her mom for her 50th birthday with a sibling photo session at Jekyll Island. How freaking sweet is that!? All of the kids are adults (or just about to be, since Kadie is a high school senior) and everyone was home in St Simons visiting for the holidays. It was the perfect time to get together! The only boy in the Moxley crew, Zac, brought his new bride Grace to the shoot too, which made it even more special.
I’ve been DYING to share this sibling photo session at Jekyll Island since I photographed it a few weeks ago!!! But, just in case their mom caught wind of it before her birthday, I decided to hold off sharing any of the photos on social media or my blog. When I delivered the gallery, Allie showed it to her mom, and she was totally blown away by how sweet and thoughtful her kids are for getting her such a sweet gift.
I told Allie that I hope one day my own four kids decide to do a sibling photo session as a gift for me. I honestly – honestly – don’t know if I would love anything more than that!
Anyway – we decided to meet up at the Horton House to start off their session (which I think is such a cool location for sessions!!). It’s this old ruin of a house, built nearly a couple of hundred years ago by the first settlers of Jekyll Island. Afterward we headed over to the Crane Cottage and the infamous Avenue of the Palms!
