Surprise Proposal at Garden of the Gods at High Point
September 27, 2018
Not too long ago, Wilson secretly reached out to us. You see, Wilson really wanted us to capture his surprisal proposal at Garden of the Gods at High Point, with the beautiful views of both the red rocks of Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak off in the distance. It was so sweet, you guys – he flew in all the way from Texas in order to get the biggest shock for Katie! Katie had driven here with her sister and her mom, helping her sister get settled into her new dorm at the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs and we planned this whole big surprise proposal out.
First, Ash met up with Wilson and Katie’s sister earlier that day to make our secret plan. She skillfully got her sister dressed and over to Garden of the Gods, under the ruse that Katie’s mom wanted to take photos of them for Christmas cards. Meanwhile, Wilson was standing out on the ledge with his back turned to Katie, and she walked up and spotted Ashley! She immediately said, “oh my gosh, excuse me!” because she thought she was in the way … but little did she know she was the target!
Katie’s sister had to say “hey Katie, look at this view” about a billion times before Katie finally looked over and spotted Wilson and when she finally did, she ran over to him and he got down on one knee and proposed. She immediately gave him the biggest hug and said “YES!!!” and everyone started cheering and crying.
It was amazing, you guys. We love having the opportunity to photograph these kinds of moments, and being part of a surprise proposal at Garden of the Gods is seriously the best thing ever! We’re so happy for you both, and we know your Texas wedding will be amazing!
