Happy first Monday of December, friends!!!
November was jam-packed with life – lots of traveling, a couple weddings, lots of sessions, end of term papers for me (yay for senior year of college!), holidays, and just … life, man. I blinked and somehow 30 days flew by! While our month was super crazy, I did get to participate in not just one, but TWO surprise proposals. It was AMAZING, you guys!! Photographing a proposal (and even better, a surprise proposal at Garden of the Gods) has been on my bucket list for years. I can’t believe I never had the opportunity to shoot one before!
So, when Clayton called me out of the blue and told me that he was planning a surprise proposal, I immediately got super giddy and felt like a kid on Christmas morning. Over the course of a few days, we must have texted and called each other at least a dozen times, working out all of the little details for his surprise proposal at Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs … We set this whole plan up, where Clayton was going to surprise Corinne with just a Christmas Card session while they were in town visiting family (they live out in Los Angeles, and were here for the Thanksgiving holiday). With the photo shoot surprise, Corinne had an excuse to get some new clothes and make sure she was photo-ready … but little did she know that was just the beginning in a whole day of surprises!
Not only did Clayton pop the question just a few minutes into their session, but, he also planned a huge surprise party for later in the evening at Jack Quinn’s Pub in downtown Colorado Springs! They came upstairs to ‘grab a quick drink’ to celebrate their fresh engagement, to find their closest family and friends – including Corinne’s mom, who flew in from Arizona to be part of the surprise. The look on Corinne’s face when she looked up from the stairway and saw close to 20 of their closest friends and family, cheering them on – man oh man. I cried. She cried. We all cried, basically!
Congratulations Clayton and Corinne on your engagement, I’m so blessed to have been part of it!! Can’t wait to see all of your amazing plans for your California wedding!!
