Just about a year ago, I went to visit the Rustic Lace Barn when it was still under construction so I could do some photos for them and I eagerly awaited the opportunity to photograph a wedding there. Then, just a few weeks later, my friend Heather messaged me – I’ve been doing Heather’s family photos since the first time I lived in Colorado Springs and while she had moved to Germany, her best friend Amy was still living in Colorado Springs. Amy was freshly engaged and Heather wanted to introduce me to her and her fiance, Peter, because she knew that I’d take care of her and capture some incredible moments for them on their wedding day. I’m SO grateful to Heather for introducing me to Peter and Amy, because this wedding was absolutely amazing!!
There were a lot of sweet moments and tears, and it was so special that Amy’s dad Micah officiated the ceremony for them. He did such a great job! And since he was officiating, Amy’s 9 year old son Grant had the honor of escorting his mom down the aisle and I promise you, everyone had tears in their eyes. Peter and Amy also had their own personalized vows, too!
Following the ceremony, they had a very low key reception with delicious food from Garden of the Gods Catering and yummy donuts from Horseshoe Donuts based out of Monument.
I’m so grateful to have had the chance to photograph this barn wedding at Rustic Lace Barn in Colorado Springs before we head off to Texas this summer!
