I was so honored to welcome home CW2 Jay Tombre last week!
When his wife Michelle asked me to accompany her and their two boys, 5-year-old Ben and 2-year-old Gavin, to the Colorado Springs Airport a few weeks ago, I was so excited! I love doing military homecomings, and it’s not often I get to do them at the airport since most of them are done down on post at the Special Events Center. Jay has spent the last few months in Bahrain, serving the Army Reserve and Michelle and the boys were so excited to have him home! They got there just in the nick of time, Jay’s flight from Houston arrived almost 20 minutes early – Michelle and the boys walked in literally right as they landed so we didn’t have a lot of down time between their arrival and Jay’s.
By the way – the Colorado Springs airport did a phenomenal job on their arrival area remodel. It’s got these beautiful windows, so we can use all natural light (my favorite thing in the world). So that makes daytime homecomings done there even MORE awesome! Yippee!
Enjoy! xoxo
oh my goodness, I love this and I was in tears and so happy that Jay came home safe and happy.
