Welcome home, SPC Michael Walton! I was so excited for this homecoming – I went with Kaila a few months ago to the Colorado Springs Airport to be welcome Michael home for R+R …. so this homecoming was a long time coming! This was shot down at Butts Army Airfield on Fort Carson late at night in early January, and it was pretty chilly inside the hangar! It was a pretty different experience welcoming home an Army aviation unit as opposed to the regular homecomings at the Special Events Center – but still just as amazing and patriotic. Once the soldiers were released, it took SO LONG for Kaila to finally find Michael – we seriously were walking around for a good few minutes trying to find him! She was able to find every single one of their friends before she was able to find him – but when she finally did (with the help of one of their friends), it was absolutely worth it! These high school sweethearts are so happy to be reunited after a year long ceremony – enjoy!!
