Jack and Brooke had an absolutely incredible whimsical romantic backyard ranch wedding this past weekend, and I feel so blessed to have been part of it! I made the trek, along with my assistant/mentoree and future #RADweddings bride Ali, the four hour drive from Colorado Springs up to Brooke’s mom’s ranch in Rifle, Colorado. Their beautiful homestead had all kinds of farm animals – including sheep, horses and chickens! When we showed up, it was absolutely incredible – the view of the Rocky Mountains, the intimate feel of their backyard wedding, and all of the truly amazing DIY details throughout the property.
But more than that – the love between Jack and Brooke was what made their wedding day extraordinary. They met as many people do these days (online!) and for Jack, he knew the moment he saw her that Brooke was the One for him. Their first date just over a couple of years ago was at the Rose Garden and Deschutes Brewery in their hometown of Portland, Oregon – and so it was very fitting for them to incorporate roses into their wedding. All of the floral pieces featured pink roses, but the most special roses were part of the ceremony. Instead of more traditional ceremony concepts, like unity candles or sand ceremonies, Jack and Brooke decided to do a rose planting ceremony. Together, they planted a beautiful pink rose, filling with dirt and water – to signify nurturing their marriage and relationship. It was SUCH a rad idea you guys, I’ll be blogging more specifically about it in the future!
Aside from their unique rose planting ceremony, Jack and Brooke’s whimsical romantic backyard ranch wedding was truly a labor of love – Brooke’s mom and stepfather handmade the pink dance floor as well as the arch at the altar. Friends of the family catered with salmon, prime rib and a wide assortment of sides – and it was absolutely spectacular. Their wedding cake and macaroons were made by a bakery out of Grand Junction, and everyone was raving about how delicious everything tasted!
I’m so excited to share these images, I just adore backyard intimate weddings like this!! Hooray for summer wedding season kicking off the best way possible!
Special thanks to the amazing creative team that came together to make Jack + Brooke’s wedding so rad!
