Wintery Woodland Park Engagement Session
January 30, 2018
After Chris and Megan booked us for their wedding and we started talking about their engagement session, the one thing they both wanted was snow. Of course, Colorado gets snow, but it’s entirely unpredictable to plan for it in advance; so, when a 2-day snowstorm brewed on the immediate horizon, we immediately reached out to see if they were available – and luckily, they were! So we headed up into the snowy mountains for Chris and Megan’s wintery Woodland Park engagement session and it was beyond amazing.
The snow was absolutely dumping – I can’t even say pouring because that doesn’t relay exactly how much was falling from the skies. We had to four-wheel to this awesome spot, we lost feeling in our toes and fingers, and it “felt like” only 3 degrees outside, but you guys: it was absolutely beautiful. We had the best time having snowball fights and making snow angels, laughing and talking all about their upcoming wedding!
These two actually met online (another couple like us, woo hoo!), and quickly fell head over boots for each other. After only a few months together, Chris decided to propose on the anniversary of their second date. I’ll let him tell the story!
On our second date, we took a hike called Seven Bridges. At the top of the hike we found “our spot” where we spent a couple of hours talking, connecting and getting to know one another on a deeper level. For the proposal, I knew I wanted to take her back to “our spot.” Everything worked out perfect, including the weather! It was 32 degrees the day before and 25 degrees the day after but almost 70 the day I proposed. I even had her sister, from Thornton, drive down and hike 30 minutes ahead of us to hide at “the spot” to take pictures. She came prepared and brought sandwiches for a small picnic afterwards. So we hiked up, sat in the same spot as a year before and I got down on one knee and she said yes! It was a perfect day and it was all meant to be. Additional family joined us for celebratory drinks and dinner that night.
And now, here we are, a little more than a year away from their wedding and we are just so excited for all of the amazing things coming their way!!
We even made a little video from their engagement session … you should go check that out, too!!
