If you’ve known me for any length of time, you probably know these facts about me:
1.) I love to write. I LOVE to blog, to journal, to make lists, to tell stories and any other kind of writing.
2.) I love to help others grow their business.
3.) I recently retired from professional photography so I could go after a bigger project I had in mind.
Over my last ten years in the photography and wedding industries, I can’t even begin to tell you how many times I’ve been asked how I do some integral part of my business. Everything from “how do I shoot in manual” and “how the heck do you pose people so naturally” to bigger questions like “how can I grow my business” to “how do you balance work and being a mom,” and often about how the heck I can blog so quickly, organically build SEO or how I get thousands of site hits a month from Pinterest.
The truth is: being a business owner is tough work. I have always said that being a talented photographer is literally a teensy-tiny sliver of the business pie; there is so much else that goes on behind the scenes. Client acquisition and management, bookkeeping, marketing, social media, blogging – the list goes on and on.
I Want To Be Your Virtual BFF: Blog, Instagram and Client Management
And now that I’m no longer actively taking on photography clients – it’s time for me to share what I’ve been dreaming about doing for a long, long time: I want to become your Virtual Biz BFF.
Over the last few months, I’ve been quietly blogging for a handful other photographers. Not in a “here’s a package of template blogs” sort of way – but actual customized one-of-a-kind blogs, individualized to each person’s personality and niche. I wanted to dip my toes into it and to build experience working as a professional writer, and you know what I discovered: a new passion.
Let me help you, so that you can focus on what you want to do.
What does that mean?
My new business venture is going to be broken down into three categories.
Category 1: Ghost Writing
I am offering my services as a ghost writer to creative entrepreneurs – photographers, wedding industry folks and other creative small business owners. People who have no desire to write blogs, but recognize the imprtance of blogging for SEO and brand awareness.
What is a ghost writer? For all intents and purposes it means I write your blog/site content without formalized credit. It means I tell your client’s stories and educational content, so that you can focus on other areas of your business and life.
Category 2: Instagram Brand Management
I totally get it: social media is hard, and social media marketing on Instagram can be overwhelming.
Let me make it SUPER simple for you by:
– Creative a beautiful aesthetic of what you have to offer
– Making your Instagram feed cohesive with your brand
– Help you attract your dream clients
– Increase visibility
– Increase bookings and sales
I will be offering my services as your personal Instagram strategist, available to start this June!
Category 3: Client Management
And finally, what the heck is client management? I will help you design a uniquely individualized workflow so that your clients have an incredible experience totally outside of photography or whatever creative industry you are in. This is everything that happens after client acquisition, all the way through past the end of the project, session or event. In my ten years as a photographer, I can’t tell you how many times my clients have expressed how grateful they are for the constant contact I had with them via email.
But the secret is, it was all a series of pre-written templates that I created, that were automatically sent out to them. True story!
I am available to create customized email templates, questionnaires, and educational content for you to share with your clients so that they are well-taken care of, and you go from just being their photographer to being a trusted resource and guide.
Total game changer, right!?
Coming In The Future
Pinterest Management – In the next few weeks, I’ll also be available to design your Pinterest account so that it’s a useful tool for potential clients to find you, instead of just a place where you store recipes you’ll never cook and crafts you’ll never make. Instead, I’ll teach you how to make your Pinterest visually appealing and use it to drive traffic to your site (therefore increasing bookings and sales)!
Branding Development – Later this year, I will be offering one-on-one branding development consultations. More details coming soon!
Photography Basics E-Course – If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to shoot like the pros, straight from your camera, this e-course will help you elevate your photography skills! Coming soon!
“Passion is energy. Feel the power that comes from focusing on what excites you.”
– Oprah Winfrey –
So, you might be asking yourself: when will your virtual BFF be available? I’m really excited to be launching officially in June, once we are settled into our new home in Wisconsin. I’ll be taking a very limited number of clients, so if you’re interested in more information – send me a message!
