A Wrap-Up of 2011

Created by Ali Coşkunfrom the Noun Project

What a wonderful year it has been for us here at The Secret Pin-Up … I started the year off just barely dipping my toes into the awesomeness that is boudoir while living in Minot (North Dakota) – and now here I am, at the end of the year, I feel like an established boudoir photographer here in Colorado Springs. It’s been glamorous and a lot of hard work, both in front of the lens and behind it. I’ve been SO lucky to meet some of the most amazing women in the world, and feel so blessed that so many of you have trusted me to capture your sexiness and beauty. I can hardly believe I did nearly 140 boudoir shoots this year – absolutely crazy!! I’m astounded – especially since a large handful of them were repeat clients! I can only hope in 2012 that I can continue to do what I absolutely LOVE to do, which is capture the REAL woman – your inner sexiness, your deep-down and sometimes hidden confidence – your secret pin-up!

I have grown so much as an artist this year, both behind the lens and also with my photoshopping technique – and I’ve grown so much as a businesswoman! Hard to believe a year ago I was offering boudoir mini sessions for only $15 per girl … boy have times changed! In 2012, my mini session prices will be $215 … finally going to be charging what I feel like my time and talent are worth. Holy smokes! 🙂 It’s scary, but I’m excited and I know that I might lose some clients, but those who value my time and effort will keep coming to me – which is awesome!

I’ve been so lucky to work with three amazing hair and makeup artists this year – Glamorous by Jutone Rene in Minot, and of course Landa Chavez and Janine Novarro here in Colorado Springs. These three ladies are not only my colleagues, but some of the bestest friends a girl can ask for – amazing women inside and out, kind and so enormously talented. I am very lucky to have worked with them all!

Next year, my goal is to continue to be one of Colorado Springs’ premiere boudoir photographers and to get published in a magazine. It might be a pipe dream to see my work in print, but I am going to do everything in my power to make it happen. I am totally looking forward to rocking many shoots in the studio and working with all the amazing women (and couples!) in Colorado Springs!

God Bless and Lots of Love,
