Camden County Family Photographer – I’m ready to get back to work!

Camden County Family Photographer

As you might recall, several months ago Randy (my husband/BFF/business partner/second shooter) decided to stop shooting weddings with me. It was a mutual decision, but one that left me with a big hole in my heart – I announced earlier this year that I was no longer going to be photographing weddings. I just couldn’t (and still can’t) fathom shooting weddings with Randy there, and so I stopped.

When my brother in law got sick with terminal cancer last Thanksgiving, it really just put everything into perspective for me. I needed time to process the changes happening in our lives – and I’m so grateful that I took that time because it’s given me the gift of clarity.

Recently, I’ve been doing a lot of volunteer work – whether it’s heading down to Jacksonville to volunteer for The Giving Closet or helping out my church with their Instagram account and social media marketing. And the whole time, I’m sitting there just itching to bust out my camera to document what’s going on, to tell their stories and be part of something bigger than myself. It honestly felt like part of my self has been missing for a long time and having the chance to dive back into photography has been soul-lifting.

So … with that said …

I’m officially my announcing my return to professional photography for both portraits and branding.

After taking a hiatus from professional photography over the last 8 months, I am ready to jump back into it.

👏💥📸🎉

This morning, I shared this on Instagram: have you ever heard that phrase “you need to learn how to rest, not to quit” before?

learn to rest not to quit handlettered quote

Well, that phrase punched me in the face. Repeatedly, over the last few months. I looked like Brad Pitt after his own demons beat the crap out of himself in Fight Club.

And I realized after a lot of prayer and soul searching and long discussions with close friends and Randy, that while I don’t want to photograph weddings without Randy – I do want to serve the community with my gift. It honestly feels like part of my soul is missing without photography in my life.

So … While no, I’m not booking weddings anymore, I am going to be offering portrait and branding sessions for friends from Savannah to Jacksonville.

I will be offering:

  • high school senior sessions
  • family sessions
  • branding sessions
  • small event coverage (i.e. military homecomings and ceremonies, adoptions, etc.)

Photography will be starting at $225 for hour long sessions, and I’ll be offering digitals, prints and albums for clients!

In just a few weeks, I will be re-launching my website and branding (done by my ever-talented homegirl @rachaelearldesign ) and I’m so excited for you guys to see it.

If you’re interested in having me photograph you and your family, shoot me an email and let’s get the party started!
