We could easily – EASILY – write a list of a hundred things that we miss about Colorado; everything from the crazy weather to the beautiful wide landscapes at every turn. But what we miss as much as anything else are the people who live there – people just like Matt + Shebli. Ashley has known Shebli for a few years now; in fact, Shebli mentored with Ash when she was first opening up her photography business and it’s been such an amazing journey to watch her grow as a photographer and business woman.
When we announced that we would be coming to Colorado a few weeks ago, Shebli immediately emailed us and asked for us to capture an anniversary session with Matt in their hometown of Castle Rock. We ended up going to Daniels Park, just outside of Castle Rock, for their session. If you follow us on snapchat (which you totally should! Find us at randyandashley on there!), you might of seen the bipolar June weather with crazy rain and lightning right before their session and the subsequent beautiful sunset we had! We had the best time hanging out at Daniels Park, just laughing and talking about our kids (they have four just like us!) and all the amazing things going on with them.
In just a few weeks, they’ll be celebrating nine years of marriage. What’s even more exciting, is that Shebli’s husband Matt has begun to work with her as a second shooter for weddings – which we obviously think is pretty awesome!! We are so excited to share their anniversary session, and can’t wait to hang out with them again!!!
And, since Matt + Shebli are also photographers, we got to play for just a bit with some off-camera flash in downtown Castle Rock under the bistro lights on Wilcox St. So fun testing out some new shooting methods!
