Colorado Springs Wedding at the Mining Exchange Wyndham

Created by Ali Coşkunfrom the Noun Project

“For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you; plans to give you hope and a future.”

Jeremiah 29:11

John and Carrie were destined to be together – just ask anyone who has met them. Lance, their closest friend (who also happened to be their wedding DJ) was the first to realize their romantic destiny – even before they had met! Many years ago, Carrie and one of her girlfriends signed up to attend a wine tasting event here in Colorado Springs and one day, Carrie bumped into Lance at the gym and told him of her weekend plans … And Lance secretly signed himself and John up for the same event just so that John could meet Carrie – he was scheming the whole time to get the two of them together! They have spent the last few years together, off and on – and finally John surprised Carrie with a Christmas Eve proposal in Sausalito, which just happened to be where they had their first official date in California (after the wine tasting event, of course!). Carrie was so surprised by John’s proposal – she actually almost dropped her beautiful rose-gold ring into the Pacific Ocean!

Carrie just absolutely adores John – and he feels the same way about Carrie. Carrie just grins ear to ear whenever she talks about John – his grace and generosity and his love toward Carrie are immeasurable. I think the thing Carrie loves most about him is how he has a such a great sense of humor, and how devoted he is to his family. And John loves how supportive and loyal Carrie is, among many other of her amazing qualities. When they have children together one day, they will have two of the most amazing parents! For now though, their plan is to settle into their new home out in California in the San Francisco bay area and are looking forward to a honeymoon in Europe this summer!

Their wedding was beautiful – rustic with a touch of vintage flair.  Fr. Vincent Ring performed a beautiful wedding mass at the Holy Rosary Chapel in Cascade, Colorado; he has been a friend of John’s for twenty years, and came out of retirement just for John’s wedding. Amy and I had an amazing time with them on their wedding day, and loved watching them become husband and wife. Their reception was at the Mining Exchange in downtown Colorado Springs – it was hard not to jump 0n to the dance floor when “So Nice” by Bebel Gilberto (a great little Brazilian samba) came on during their first dance – they had so much fun dancing the night away!

Congratulations Carrie and John, I am so happy for the two of you! Many blessings to come your way! xoxo
