Oh friends – we are so thrilled to be sharing what we’re affectionately referring to as “Part 1” of Chris +Ali’s engagement session! Why is this only the first part? Well, because about 25 minutes into our fun, I took a step on a completely flat surface and ruptured by left calf muscle … I made it about 10 more steps, and pretty much had to sit because I was in so much pain and wait for Randy to come finish the session, and then so I could drive myself to urgent care. I was totally embarrassed because hello, could I be any klutzier? But Chris + Ali were both SO great – they kept cool, made sure I was okay, totally hung with me and kept my mind off the excruciating pain.
So, in the next few weeks we’ll be shooting Part 2 at another awesome Colorado Springs location!
Anyway! These two are really pretty amazing together. The first photo I ever saw of them together was actually on Instagram before we ever even started chatting – it was right around Christmastime, and Chris actually proposed to Ali at Disneyland in front of at the castle. The Disney photographer was able to capture the moment and what an incredible moment it was!!! Chris planned the whole thing and totally surprised Ali, and I was immediately drawn his magnetic smile and her overjoyed emotion and I just knew seeing that photo that we just were a perfect match. And – lucky for us, they thought we were a perfect match too!! We can’t WAIT for their wedding at the Mining Exchange Hotel later this year!!!
We met up for this first part of their engagement session at Monument Valley Park in downtown Colorado Springs. I can’t believe we lived here before for 3 years and never even knew it was hidden behind Colorado College! It was definitely a cool little hidden gem downtown, I bet it looks amazing in the summer and fall, too!
