Oh my gooooooodness!
This past weekend was our second annual boudoir marathon, held at the luxurious Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs. We had a blast! We ended up having nine girls come to the Broadmoor over the course of two days … it was definitely a whirlwind weekend! It was such a whirlwind, I actually FORGOT to take pictures of the room with my camera, but those of you who know me well know I am ADDICTED to Instagram, so I’ll pop some of those shots into this blog too! 🙂
On Saturday afternoon we had Miss Kellie and Miss Suzi come in, with Landa Chavez providing hair and makeup services. Kellie was a second-time client for me, I got to photograph her husband’s homecoming from deployment overseas earlier this year and so I was super excited when she decided to come to the Broadmoor so we could hang out again! Suzi was a first-time client and a local photog, and she just rocked her shoot from start to finish!
Funny highlight of Saturday? We had a chocolate fondue pot going for strawberries, and we totally had the burner up too hot … which incidentally made brownies, bahaha! Note to self :: pay attention to warming chocolate!
Overnight on Saturday, we all had a girl’s night in to celebrate my 29th birthday … Went out to dinner, and just hung out with some of my favorite people – and I’m not gonna lie, we spent a good hour all sitting together, playing each other at SongPop. Have you played that game yet??? SO FUN and I totally suck at it!
And then … it was Sunday morning! We ordered room service, and it was phenomenal. Seriously amazing. Best veggie omelet ever for yours truly!
We were shooting for about 10 hours on Sunday, and had a blast every single moment of it. My favorite radio station is “CandyShop” (you know, the 50 Cent song) and so we were hippity-hobbity-ing out to that ALL DAY … I do believe I serenaded a couple of the ladies with my stellar rapping skills! At one point “Drop It Like It’s Hot” popped onto the station and right in the middle of one of the shoots, Landa and I started busting out with the Sun Drop commercial re-enactment.
Our clients for the day started off with Miss Jessica, who is a second-time client (check her out a few months ago HERE!) and one of my favoritest people to hang out with! I will be attending her husband’s homecoming in just a few short weeks (we can almost say DAYS at this point!) and I’m soooo excited! We went a bit outside the box for her shoot (I do believe the question “just how flexible ARE you?” popped up!) … Maybe if I ask real nice Miss Jessica will let me show off some more of her shoot after Christmas but for now, here’s a little peek!
Our second client on Sunday was Miss Tammy, another second-time client (she was part of our video promo shoot back in January, remember??). I super puffy heart Tammy! This time around she just KNEW she could rock the shoot, and she totally did. Love my beautiful friend! We are already planning her third and final shoot with me before she and her family PCS away from Fort Carson next year. 🙂
Our third client was Miss Chanel … and ohhhh my goodness, I LOVED her blue corset. She looked absolutely amazing! Plus, she just found out she is expecting a baby and she was just glowing! We’re going to be doing some maternity shots of her in a few months, so stay tuned for that sometime next year!
Our fourth client was Miss Anna (aka Miss Sarah – I kept thinking her name was Sarah – funny story, haha!) … And yeah, let me tell you about Miss Anna. She just WENT for it with her shoot – threw inhibition to the wind and it totally paid off. Can’t WAIT to share more of these!
Our fifth client was Miss Morgan, who is just an absolute bombshell. We were talking about Marilyn Monroe and how Miss Morgan LOVES her … so we really went for a glamorous pin-up type style for her shoot and yeah … no words, no words. Miss Morgan’s shoot reminded me of the Ode to Marilyn shoot we did in May – so much fun, and super glam!
Our second-to-final client for the day was Miss Sharilyn … who is getting MARRIED soon!!! We had a LOT of laughs during her shoot (I do believe she was on the receiving end of an Eminem karaoke from me) … We were just busting up laughing the entire time! She looked so beautiful though, the pink and black outfit she wore was to die for! Her fiancé is one lucky fella!
And our final pin-up of the day was Miss April, another bombshell client! She came with all kinds of ideas for her shoot, which was so awesome (yes, I love when clients have specific ideas for their shoots!). I think Miss April won for “best smolder eye” … check it out!
Special Thanks
I would like to take a moment to send a super special shout out to Janine Novarro and Landa Chavez – their hair and makeup artistry at the marathon was so wonderful, I couldn’t have done this without them! I’d also like to send a shout out to Babette Souter, for bringing her fun Pure Romance products to really get the party going (loves you!). I’d also like to thank the wonderful staff at the Broadmoor Hotel for such wonderful service (and also for giving directions to every single client since they ALL got lost, ha ha ha!).
And most importantly, a huge thanks to all the ladies who came. You guys made this marathon the funnest one we’ve had to date, and you guys were all so beautiful! Thank you so much for allowing me to share some of your images – stay tuned for their blogs to come soon!
xoxo,
PS :: Coming in January, a boudoir marathon JUST for the ladies with deployed spouses/boyfriends! More details to come soon!!!
