Ring Warming Ceremony
Happy Wedding Wednesday, friends!!! It’s been a couple of weeks since we’ve shared a Wedding Wednesday post, so today’s blog is a quick one. We’re going to chat about a new wedding tradition for your ceremony that we absolutely LOVE!!
This year has been full of totally rad wedding traditions, all so unique and beautiful. One of the most meaningful new traditions we’ve been introduced to this year is the ring warming ceremony.
At Steve + Shannon’s wedding last May, all of their closest family and friends gathered for a ring warming ceremony prior to the wedding. They all stood in a circle around the couple, and their rabbi offered a prayer over their wedding rings in a beautiful box before passing them along to each and every person in their circle.
Each guest then offered a silent prayer for well-wishes for Steve + Shannon, until the rings went around the entire room, ending with the best man and maid of honor, who held on to the rings for the ceremony.
This is a beautiful alternative to other traditional wedding rituals, like unity candles or a feet washing ceremony. By the time the rings make their way back to the bride and groom, they have all kinds of happy juju from family + friends!
