Couples

love story | Josh + Kristy, Colorado Springs Couples Photography

Meet Josh and Kristy! We had a great time at this very early morning couples shoot in early February. We lucked out and had a decently “warm” morning (somewhere in the 30s) at Garden of the Gods here in Colorado Springs. Josh and Kristy are an amazing couple – they’ve been together for 12 years and this year on May 30th they will be celebrating ten years of wedded bliss. We did their tenth anniversary shoot a bit early because Josh is a First Lieutenant in the Army stationed at nearby Fort Carson, and received orders to deploy overseas, so unfortunately they won’t be able to spend their anniversary together. The orders kind of snuck up on them, so I am so glad we were able to squeeze in their shoot before Josh heads overseas. I am sure that Kristy will do a marvelous job handling this first deployment with their 8-year-old son Gabe – who is Josh’s “mini-me of Josh,” according to Kristy. I just loved the way that Kristy looked at Josh, with such love and admiration – he’s truly her hero. I asked her what was so amazing and special about Josh, and she said, “He’s my best friend! He has always supported me through everything and has always been there. He continuously shows me his unconditional love. I couldn’t ask for a better man to spend the rest of my life with!”

Once Josh returns from his tour overseas, they are looking forward to expanding their family and traveling to new places, which I’m so excited for them to do!

I’ll leave you with lyrics from their wedding song, “I Cross My Heart” by George Strait – as I think it absolutely sums up their love story ::

You will always be the miracle that makes my life complete,
And as long as there’s a breath in me, I’ll make yours just as sweet.
As we look into the future, it’s as far as we can see,
So let’s make each tomorrow be the best that it can be.

Enjoy! XOXO
