These two are quite possibly the two cutest lovebirds on the face of the planet. We got to hang out with Rachel and Preston this weekend for their Strands Beach engagement session in Dana Point, and by the end of it my cheeks were literally cramping from laughing and smiling so much! They flew all the way in from Dallas for their session (and for an engagement party Rachel’s grandmother was throwing for them later that day), and it was the absolute perfect way to start our day … even if we had to get up at 4:30am to start getting ready!
We decided to meet up at Strands Beach because this is actually where they met four years ago (well not technically on the beach, but in this area!). What an incredible place it is! We got to see a pod of dolphins just off-shore, and there was hardly anyone there at sunrise – which was a gift in and of itself). We spent a couple hours just walking up and down the bluffs, watching the sea life and the sunrise, laughing and joking and talking about their love story and their plans for the future.
Something that really struck me was Rachel + Preston’s belief in soul mates – that when it’s right, it’s right. It reminded me so much of my love story with Randy, how they met and just “zinged,” (to quote Hotel Transylvania – haha!). They started their relationship off as friends and roommates, but quickly realized each other was “the One” and when Preston proposed earlier this summer – it was the culmination of their beautiful relationship. We seriously cannot wait for their destination wedding next year in Bermuda Dunes!!
And can we all just lift our hands and give Rach all the heart eyes for her gorgeous tulle skirt?? She spent many years as a ballerina, so it was only fitting that there was a nod to the ballet with her outfit. And of course, Preston’s watch was pretty rad, too! 😉
