12 years.
This day was 12 years in the making. Back when Cheyenne + Keaton were in the fifth grade together, no one knew then that the childhood crush they had on each other would lead to one of the most magical weddings we’ve ever had the privilege of documenting. Even when Keaton and his family moved away to Oregon in middle school, their friendship (and crushes) persisted and they kept in touch through email and MySpace because there was just something there. Then Keaton enlisted into the Marines after high school, and got stationed at Camp Pendleton … and finally, being so close together again they met up a couple of years ago, and here we are.
These two are just so good together, they fit together like puzzle pieces. Their Griffith House wedding this past weekend in Anaheim reminded us of Cinderella and her Prince Charming, twirling away at the ball, surrounded by everyone they love and hold dear. Despite the threat of some gray clouds and potential rain, the weather was absolutely perfect. Their ceremony was led by Cheyenne’s Uncle Lucas, and featured a foot washing ceremony – which was something we’d never seen at a wedding before. As Jesus washed the feet of his Apostles, in weddings it is symbolic of serving and taking care of one another in their new lives together. Following their ceremony, everyone danced the night away and enjoyed a fun photo booth, and delicious food from Richard Jones BBQ!
We’re so thrilled for our friends, and hope they’re currently enjoying their Hawaiian honeymoon! xoxo
