10 Things You Might Not Know About Ashley

Hi guys! This is Randy!

This is the first time I have ever blogged about anything. I think the best thing for me to blog about is the love of my life: Ashley! The moment that I saw her I knew that Ashley was the One. I fell in love with my soulmate and I thank God every day for Ashley being brought into my life. I wanted to take the time to tell you 10 amazing things about Ashley that you may or may not have already known about her.

1. Ashley was adopted at birth by her amazing Mom. She was a gift to her mom and shortly after a gift to her dad. They have been amazing parents to both Ashley and her brother, Ryan. They have always been there for me, too – as well as our whole family. They will always be there when we need them most.

2. Ashley’s favorite color is green … but she almost never wears it. She’s almost always in something pink!

3. Ashley absolutely loves Marvel. Marvel everything!!! If it has Thor or Captain America on it she wants it or already has it. She has got me into the Marvel scene, which has become a big part of our family movie nights. Even our kids are getting in to Marvel and super heroes – our oldest son’s walls are getting covered with Deadpool stuff.

4. Ashley loves paperwork, making lists and anything that is clerical. She went to school to be in human resources and was only 10 classes from graduating when I noticed it wasn’t making her as happy as photography did, so I encouraged her to open up her own business.

5. Ashley’s a crazy list maker. She’s always making to do lists, grocery lists, Christmas shopping lists – you name it, there’s a list for it somewhere. She will make lists for everything and anything – groceries, things to do, you name it and it’s probably on a list somewhere. It makes my heart happy, because I know we’ll always get things done! S

6. Ashley LOVES every animal there is out there. If it was up to her we would have 15 dogs, 5 cats, rabbits, Guinea Pigs, cows and goats as her pets. Her care and compassion for animals is amazing but sometimes its overwhelming … she is not allowed to go to a pet store if I am not there. When this happens we usually end up with a new pet. From fish to dogs it happens but I can’t blame her for loving animals.

These are just four of our pets (Kodah Bear, Spark Plug, Charlie and Jacob) – what you don’t see is Thor the guinea pig, Frank the fish and Sam the water turtle.

7. Ashley hates to fly if there is another mode of transportation we are probably going to take it. We have been on a lot of flights but as we get older her fear of planes becomes greater. When the wind is high and turbulence is bad you better believe my hand is crushed – not just squeezed but completely crushed!!! She is usually a trooper but there has been a few times where she definitely needed a drink or two.

8. Ashley’s dream vacation would be a cruise to Europe. She wants to be able to take time enjoy the experience of the local areas as well as the food, sightseeing and having a list of places to visit would be very thorough and planned out before we would even take off (I told you that she loves to make her lists). It would be amazing experience and I can’t wait to take her on our 20th anniversary in 2023!

9. How did Ashley meet me? Online when there was still Dial up and AOL instant messenger! ASL (age/sex/location) was the first message that I sent to her and the rest is history. We exchanged messages and emails for a few days, and met shortly afterwards, falling immediately in love. I still have her profile picture and still can’t believe how unbelievably lucky I truly am.

This was one of the first pictures Ashley ever sent me, from when she was a graduating senior in high school. The smile hasn’t changed at all!

10. Ashley always has to have music playing – and it varies from day to day. Sometimes it’s Taylor Swift (okay, it’s usually Taylor Swift), sometimes it’s rap like 50 Cent and Ludacris (I wish I was kidding), sometimes it’s 80s music (now I really wish I was kidding). But music is almost always playing in the background … and if it’s not music, it’s Gilmore Girls!
