This was my first time visiting the University of Arizona in Tucson, and wow do they have an awesome athletics complex! I was there to document the2024 Brent Brennan Football Camp, where several high school football teams competed in 7×7 games and a Big Man Competition at the Arizona Athletic Complex.
I spent the entire spring season with the Shadow Ridge High School football team attending 7x7s, which was so much fun for me. In all my years on the field, I had never even heard of a 7×7 tournament until we moved to Phoenix. Sevens tournaments are mini games where football skills players took to the various practice fields, competing with seven players on each side. It’s wildly different from traditional football, but just as much fun to watch.
The Big Man Competition took place inside of the indoor field. Linemen will compete in several tests for their strength, speed and endurance. The indoor field at the University of Arizona is absolutely incredible, with beautiful turf and air conditioning. It must be a big blessing to the Wildcats when they are conditioning and training during the summer!
