We met Jonathan + Lauren last summer at his sister’s wedding in Big Bear (hi Amanda + Matt!!!) and we immediately just gravitated to their charisma and charm, super awesome dance skills and their sense of humor. Soon after we met them, they asked us to document part of their wedding story – their engagement session in Coronado and their Bernardo Winery wedding reception at their favorite winery near their hometown of San Diego. You see, two weeks before their California reception at Bernardo Winery, Lauren + Jonathan actually got married in Hawaii on the island of Kauai. It was absolutely stunning!! Our new friend Naomi Wong photographed it, and shared it on her blog (check it out!!) – and once we saw those images, we got even more excited to spend the afternoon with them in Rancho Bernardo!
But first – let us rewind it a little bit and tell you guys how they met. Both Lauren and Jonathan are teachers; in fact, so is Lauren’s mom! Lauren’s mom work together at the same school! A few years ago Jonathan developed his own education professional development company and after doing so, he was looking for a consultant to help a project – and Lauren’s mom suggested Lauren. They met, they fell in love – and the rest, as they say, is history!!!
At their reception, Jonathan put together a slideshow of photos of the past few years together – the vacations, the dates, everyday life together, mixed in with photos and videos from their wedding – even the video of Jonathan getting down on one knee and proposing at their housewarming party in front of all their family and friends! Let us tell you – there wasn’t a dry eye at the reception watching the slideshow!
We feel so blessed to have been able to be part of Jonathan + Lauren’s wedding adventure, and we are so excited to see all the amazing things that we know are coming up for them! Congratulations, guys!! xoxoxo
