We have known Caleb for quite some time now; a few years ago, we even got to photograph his dad (Ken) and step-mom (Jen)’s wedding at the Sunbird in Colorado Springs! So when Jen sent us a text message and asked if we’d be available to photograph some engagement photos for Caleb and his girlfriend Cara, of course we had to say yes!! Luckily for us, we were able to squeeze them into our busy spring season, because Caleb is leaving soon for basic training for the Navy. Not only did Caleb enlist into the Navy, but that same week he proposed to Cara, his high school sweetheart! He surprised her with a b-e-a-uuuutiful ring and proposed at his mom’s house … totally reminiscent of how Randy proposed to me! They remind both of us so much of ourselves at that age, which totally made our hearts burst with joy. And now with Caleb leaving soon for the Navy – it’s so similar to our story!
We did their Colorado Springs engagement photos at Garden of the Gods, at High Point – and we picked a beautiful day to do it! The sunset was absolutely beautiful and golden, and it actually wasn’t too crowded (probably because we went in the middle of the week, haha!). We spent the afternoon hiking all over the rocks, being silly, swapping stories and talking about all of the incredible things coming up for them in the next few months – and we are so thrilled to have kicked off their amazing year with their engagement session!
