What a fun and COLD session this was! We did this shoot in two parts – we started off up in the mountains with every intention of going to Crystal Creek Reservoir BUT the weather had different ideas. It was a very, very chilly day – a whopping 6* outside … and did I mention the light breeze and snowfall? Yeah, it was pretty dang cold even with the hand warmers that Josh and Jessica brought for us to shove inside our winter gloves. We spent about 18 minutes in the actual snow before getting too cold to be shooting up there, so we headed back down the mountain to Garden of the Gods to finish up their session (where it was about 30 degrees warmer!). It’s even better that we had to move shoot locations since Josh is leaving soon for Army training, and so they are moving away in jut a few months from Colorado Springs and really wanted to have a “real Colorado” backdrop. Can’t get much more “Colorado Springs” than snow, Garden of the Gods, wind and lots of fun memories.

One of the fun ideas that Jessica wanted to do (found on Pinterest, of course!) was to start a new tradition for them on each wedding anniversary – to take a picture of themselves kissing, holding up a number showing how many years of wedded bliss they were celebrating. Of course they may not have professional pictures taken every year, but I thought this was such a great way to celebrate their love! Enjoy!
