It’s not very often that I spend time with my couples in the morning to photograph their engagement sessions, but when the opportunity came to take engagement photos at Villa Terrace in Milwaukee came up? Ooooh girl, you better BELIEVE I was like YESSSS! Villa Terrace reminds me so much of the beautiful photos I’ve seen taken in Europe, and when Molly suggested it for their engagement session location, I was willing to do whatever we needed to do to make that happen. Even if that meant shooting in the middle of the morning, on a warm cloudless day in the summer! It pushed me outside my comfort zone, and I have to admit: I freaking love how it all turned out.

Anyway, meet my new friends, Molly and Joey! They’re getting married next summer at the Ivy House in Milwaukee, but we wanted to hang out ASAP for their engagement session. They met a couple of years ago by absolute chance, hanging out with separate groups of friends on the dance floor at the Red Rock Saloon. One drink turned into Joey getting Molly’s number, and he texted her the next morning and they’ve been together basically ever since. Molly told me though – she knew RIGHT away that Joey was the one for her. Joey’s love for his son, the incredible career path he’s led from his time in the Marine Corps to his service in law enforcement, the type of man he is – it’s everything she dreamed of in a partner. And when it came time to propose? Joey presented Molly with the most gorgeous diamond ring after a hike in Port Washington. And now here we are, planning their wedding!
